After the show, the band went straight to the airport, and departed at 10.45 pm.
Danish National TV (DR) was allowed to film 2 songs, Mean Woman Blues and We Can Work It Out. They were featured in the news the same evening. (The video also contains some rehearsels from later in 1991, they have nothing to do with the Copenhagen concert)
When I realized that my idol came to Copenhagen, I knew I had to be there. I saw him in Gothenborg in 1989, also an amazing experience, even from the back of the arena 😊
Together with some friends, I went to the venue around 5pm, hoping to be able to get close to the stage when the doors opened. Everyone was in good moods, even when we all struggled to get the best spots. I was lucky and ended in second row from the stage. Around 8pm the band went on stage to wild cheers. First set was acoustic, and everyone sang along. After the break, the tempo was increased, and the electric set opened with Twenty Flight Rock. When the band started their last song, Let It Be, an emotional atmosphere spread in the hall, lighters were lit, and people sang along.
The band said Thank You, bowed, and left the stage to loud clapping and stamping. We all wanted an encore, and the band returned and did Can’t Buy Me Love and Sgt. Pepper. We were all hoping for more, but the show was over, and people headed for the exits. I waited a while before leaving, and on my way out, I noticed a guy sitting in tailor position on the floor, repeating ‘Man, it was great’. I agreed with him !
