The Official Danish Beatles Fan Club

(February 1966 - Fall 1967)

The club is a continuation of 'The Official Beatles Fan Club Organisation Of Denmark' from Copenhagen, and The Official Danish Beatles Fan Club' from Aarhus. The 2 clubs were merged on 3/2-1966, and a letter was sent to the club members in February. Even though the club management was unchanged, it was chosen to start the issue sequence with '1'.

In the summer of 1966, the number of members was 550. 17-year-old Inge Nielsen was mentioned as an editorial staff member.

The fan club had previously sent John Lennon a birthday present, and they received a thank you letter in return. The fan club also received a handful of the Christmas flexi 'Pantomine – Everywhere It's Christmas' to distribute among the members, together with a Christmas card.

In 1967 the membership fee was 12,- Danish kroner annually, and in April what was to be the last magazine from the club was published. The number of members was down to about 200.

In June, Gunner Gamborg traveled to England, and had the opportunity to visit John Lennon in Kenwood. John Lennon and his family made time for the guest from Denmark. Gunner took some photos, and received a personal greeting with John's autograph in the book 'How I Won The War'. Furthermore, he was given an acetate of 'All You Need Is Love', which John Lennon had brought home from the studio a few days before.

Interest in the fan club gradually declined, as did the energy from the editor team. Therefore, the club's activities were slowly closed down during the summer/autumn of 1967. It is not possible to set a final date for the club's closure.
